Am I to guess that only four of us followed through on the swap? Should I quit following this topic?
I hate getting stiffed on swaps like this, I always wonder what folks think when that block shows up at the house.

Sue - I figure on this one what shows up shows up and what doesn't doesn't. I have only gotten 3 blocks also. They are not due for a day or two. Same thing is happening in the Birthday swap. There are those of us who have sent blocks all year round and out of 12 I have gotten 4. I will continue with my committment as that is what I do. I have decided though that no more swapping for me. I have gotten stiffed too many times. The sew alongs are great, the quilting spirit is great, I love to hear about what everyone is doing and all their families but no more am I sending fabric that I have paid $10 or more a yard for only to get stiffed in the end. I do not buy Walmart and Joanne's fabrics. Only LQS and the pocket book says no more.

WeSig,
I have gotten burned on more than a few swaps, too. But I was hopeful that this one being so small folks would come through. I did a birthday swap on another list, my month was among the early ones and I did get all 12, but lots of folks in the later months didn't get theirs. It was a pretty large group so some of us volunteered to try to make up for those that didn't get 11. But even some of what I got was undersized or wrong color background. My husband keeps saying, why do you do this, you never get back what you give. I am ready to swear off swaps for a while too.

I have 3--(Valerie, Sue and Jean), and I cherish them. I think that's all anyone has unless some have received Donna's. At least I know I'll have 4 and I'm ever hopeful that I'll get 6 eventually! If not, oh well, it's unfortunate that this swap happened to fall in the middle of all the turmoil. But I have to admit, I'll be very shy about doing swaps in the future, none at this forum has really worked out for me. Just sew alongs in my future (and the odd charity blocks, of course).

Ladies, your blocks went in the mail on Saturday.

If it is any consolation, at least we were not making 20 blocks. :o)
