New!!! 9-patch fun Pick & Stitch - Got a question for you all

Okay, here's my 9 patch attic window as I understood it. I decided to add some applique. I'm running short on some fabrics & adding in some new fabrics & trying to tie it together. Sixteen blocks done!

Oh WOW! Carol. Your block is beautiful! I love it! I wouldn't have thought to do it as a "9 patch". Very clever. Love the appliqué too!

Thanks, Denise! I don't know if it's what was intended but hey, it's done! It was very easy to do. I didn't have any "interesting" fabric for the window so I stuck in the applique. This sew along has made me unafraid of applique! Now I need to get to work on my Barn BOM block!

Thanks, Joann. Yep, 4 1/2 inch squares. From what I've read you always have a lot going on but you'll get caught up! I look forward to seeing more of your snowman blocks!

Hope all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I'm heading to Joann's to see if they have anything I can't live without while DH goes to Home Depot.

Hey Denise & Joanne, I must have missed you guys! I did meet a nice lady who encouraged me to join her quilt guild.

Things I couldn't do without: 3 books! Carol Doak's Mariner's Compass Stars because Alina has paperpiecing in her Spring Cleaning sew along & I fell in love with it! I also got Sugar Sack Quilts by Glenna Hailey and Nancy Mahoney's Applique Quilt Revival because I love the 30's fabrics & styles and because I'm loving applique since following this 9 patch pick & stitch!

So now instead of sewing I'm going to sit and drool over my books!

If you couldn't make this as a nine-patch and had to end up with a Y-seam, I don't think I would attempt it. Thank goodness for HST! Grandma2Davey's looks like a real window sill with the flower basket - very cute idea. I think I have some cloud-looking fabric in my stash. Maybe I'll see the 'sky' from my 'window.'
