Here is my Mother's Apron. It is 6.5 inches as well. I did not have any rid-rac so I used lace. It is hard to see in the photo.

Will check out the video over the weekend and try to make my blocks from that as the PDF they downloaded to me has a lot of blank spaces on it and it doesn't have all the information I need .....until I read this thread I didn't even realise the apron was a block, I thought it was a pattern to make an actual apron!!!!

April,
Those are great! thanks for posting. Have 20 of the 6" pork & beans on design wall trying to decide which to go where. For this year's quilt, doing 6" in El's Victory line and 12" in 30s--trying to decide on backgrounds!
Hey Rick! Nice to see you back--so, did you make last year's quilt???

Don't forget to post pics--we love them!

Sally, I have a suggestion for QIAD. Jules seems to be having issues with the email directions from the sound of her posts.

Could QIAD maybe give the International people the option of paying more money (to cover the extra postage) in order to get the directions by mail??? I realize it would take alot longer for them to get theirs, but at least it would be complete. Just a thought...

Jules - When DH comes home today I will have him scan my copy and send it to you. I do have your email address. Lets see if that works.

In the meantime I am sure that QIAD is working very hard on getting the glitch out so that you will NOT have any difficulties in the future.

HUGE HUGS for your patience :)

Teresa I do... not think you are allowed to copy and send the pattern..please check with QIAD before you do this.

I searched my stash and came up with this bunch of fabric....what do you think?

Grammie - I think I am fine as we both paid for it but I will wait for Jules to let me know what the status is and get the approval from QIAD :)

I like BOTH your stashes of fabric!!

Hello everybody

I wasn't sure whether I was going to sign up for this year's BOM (I wanted to make sure it was going to be only one quilt and not a quilt a month like two years ago so I've been waiting until the video was out. I watched it yesterday and I had a blast!

I want to use 30's fabric for my quilt and I was wondering if, for making the 6" block quilt, would be enough if I used a layer cake. Of course, background fabric would be extra. I saw she was using a layer cake by moda to make her 6" apron and pork and beans blocks.

Thank you all and looking forward to sharing with you!

Inma

Teresa thanks for offering to send me the pattern, I think it will be ok as I have paid for the pattern, I think it's only not allowed if someone hasn't paid for it, but by all means check with QIAD first if you're unsure......I did send an email to QIAD strait away to tell them about the problem with the PDF file but so far haven't heard back from them......I hope it can be sorted soon as its not going to be a fun block party for me if I can't see the patterns!!!!

On a happier note, once I can get started on making the blocks I'll be using 30's fabrics, mainly because I love them and I have a ton of them :)
