Thanks for nice comments. These were a lot of fun. Fortunately I had some of the Victory Garden fabric in yardage so I could add a matching border on the pinwheel quilt (really nice floral). I love El's fabrics (especially Magic Vine and Victory Garden--course I'm into 30s-40s these days!) And I still have 3 more of the fat 8ths. Time for a scrappy something! I'm sooo looking forward to her next line. Has anyone heard anything? I know they got the first strike-offs in January or Feb. so I thought it would be out by now.
Class on Tuesday!!! Woohoo. Can't wait. Just need to finish sewing on the binding to the back, which I do by hand. Wonder how many others made a quilt instead of a pillow.

Hi all,
Next project (wall hanging, lap quilt or even a queen) is from a 21 1/2" block--looks easy to do but results are impressive--she's calling it Cross & Stars (I think) and it's a traditional quilt block--but easy since it's El's way! I'll be doing a queen size (just 9 blocks)--probably from batiks.
Lots of bias (we'll sew strips together and cut on 45 degree for 'diamonds' and sew those to triangles--then to each other--but all seams 'lock') so you might want to consider getting some Best Press. 6 X 12" ruler with 45 degree line plus 12 1/2" square-up for this project. Can be made with yardage or fat quarters. You'll need a light, a medium and a dark for strips (2" or 1 1/2") plus 2 1/2" center square (I think you'll need 2 strips for each block), a background fabric (I'm using black I think) and sashing (2" or 3 1/2" depending on size of your project). Forgot to bring in pattern so can't tell you how much yardage you'll need but it's less than a yard for each (except background and border) even for lap quilt--something like 5/8 yard, I think.
This one is really nice!

Uh oh. I foresee more spending in my future! I watched the video for June and HAD to get the placemat deal plus one roll of the 1/8 fabric. Sally, you are such a luck girl and I am envious of you! Can't wait for the video.

If you're still waiting for your pattern and itchin' to be quiltin', there a new Mystery for a table topper at
http://quiltbug.com/free/blooming.htm
It uses El's large Flying Geese ruler (the 4 X 8, not the jumbo!)
