Sandy

If you have the fabric washed already... that's fine,

if not.. that's fine too. Just indicate in the little baggies whether it is washed or not.

I do think most of us wash our fabric first and it is easier to wash full big pieces than little charms... so if you have time to wash it first--that's great... if not don't stress... just mark whether it's washed or not. NBD

MaryQ...huge stash of blues & yellows, huh? Gee, Minnesota is much closer for a stash raid than Georgia is. I think you might have given some of us midwesterners a new place to find some goodies!! lol

ME

My stash is pitiful compared to GP's!!!! NOBODY has a stash like her's!!! I still have an empty dresser I haven't filled yet!! That's my mission--to fill that up!

Have you seen all the great new stuff on Fabric Frenzy!! OMG, my "wish list" gets longer by the minute!!

If you have room for one more, I'd like to join. Just picked up some Windham Feedsack material. One is white flowers on a blue background and the other is mostly yellow flowers on a white background. Is this OK?

I'm new to this board and relatively new to quilting. I hate to sound stupid, but here goes:

What's a "charm"?

There are not stupid questions! Please don't hesitate to ask questions.

CoyoteQuilts answered this back on page one because someone else was confused. Here's what she said:

"A charm is a square piece of fabric. The mfg have been cutting 'charms' lately of their fabric lines. We cut our own and swap them with each other. Right now we have 5" charms & 8" charms being signed up for. Each hostess picks the fabric type ie: theme like Christmas or Valentines, or color group, or solids, or batiks, or flowers and she also picks the size of the square. There are many patterns on the market right now that use these tiny pieces of fabric to make beautiful items."

As a matter of fact, I just bought the charm pack for Magic Vine and got a free pattern called Split Nine Patch!

Thanks, Evie. So basically it's a 5" square of fabric, right? (Just clarifying.)

Please sign me up! I was just thinking yesterday that I'd love to find someone to swap squares with.

I'm in, yea! Ok, just double checking, sending 30 sandwich bags with two charms each (5").
