Whew! I just finished my FIRST block. Took me about 4 hours. Lord love a duck! There's 48 pieces. And I had to do my OWN math and devise my OWN directions. In other words, I had to think for myself. I've found 3 different blocks representing Washington State, and this one SEEMED to be the easy one! I may take a better gander at the others now! How's everyone else doing? Better than I, I hope!

Cindy and Marcia... as long as the block represents a state you love and they are red, white and blue I say go for it...
Marica... if you aren't going to do the Missouri block let me know and I will remove it from your name...if you are making up your own block that is fine... we can call it something like Marissourica or something equally as cleaver.
Cindy... give me DH's number... I will let him know there will be no painting till this swap is over... besides, it's too cold and wet outside to paint.. the paint would never dry....
edited to say.... Mary, you are such a trooper.... I am going to love this quilt.

i have a 3 day weekend off coming up...hope to make a decision by then. i dont have the pioneer sampler book...and the pattern on quilters cache calls for paper piecing of the missouri star...(which makes me nervous)so thats why im looking for an alternative. marcia (nur5e)

Oooooo Your blocks are awesome!
Maryq I love the bottom ones in the middle and on the right. The colors just pop!!
Chriss - I love the blue going down the middle. Wonderful.
Jacquie - Your plaids look so 1776 patriotic. Way cool
Can't wait to start mine but I am looking and waiting for the WOW with the stars. Bolts is trying to order it for me but I have the Road to California also coming up so I have my list of what I am looking for. I think I need to win the lotto.

Cindy, glad you are joining
All the blocks posted are just beautiful! I am getting excited and we still have time for signups!
I'm waiting for my 3rd fabric to arrive. Sure hope my quesstimate of fabric needed was correct. I think I am going to put a fabric calculator -- with good directons for using it on my wish list--I have a birthday coming in couple months--perhaps the elfins will jump on that!
ANyway, I can dream. Keep up the great work everyone, this will be a beautiful quilt. Carol/kittyquilt

Re: RED WHITE AND BLUE..... STATE BLOCK SWAP closed... due date 3/30/11
Ok, I think I can do this. I found the State of Illinois block on quilters cache and it looks simple enough. Just need to work out the colors. I guess now I should ask my silly question. Can the blue and red both be in one fabric? or do I need individual fabrics of red, white and blue. I have the white but the block appears to be just a 2 color block so I thought if I used red and blue in one fabric, I would be good to go. Just asking. But go ahead and put me down and I will figure it out.
