Re: Here's good news for the stars across America sew along
I actually have some fall colors I could pull from. They are my favorite colors except I really don't like true orange but that could change. I have a brown with I think white daisey that could be my border. Once DH and DGS leave on their trip, I am going to pull out my stash and start looking. I also have plenty of 1800's. Another week and 1/2 and they are gone. Oh I will miss them! Hope that DGS is up to this.

Just read all the post, looks like most are leaning toward fall colors. That just might be a good idea. The one bad thing about Fl. you don't get the fall colors.
I ordered the Stars Across America book. When I get the book will decied then. When everyone wants to start that is fine with me.

Chriss, I'm doing the two blocks for the Pick and Stitch which is great because I will give one as a gift and keep one! But in that sew along there are 10 applique blocks, so it is putting me way behind to get those extra ones done..lol! But, I'll get there!
It's really a great idea to make it in two different color schemes!

I see where some are using a theme, I thinbk I might make mine scrappy so I can use some of my "left overs" up. Of course I might change my mind when I get the book, supposed to pick it up today, my lqs ordered it for me. I try to support my lqs whenever I can, they are great and so helpful.
Carolyn, how was your orange? pretty cool to be able to just go pick one like that!

I like the theme idea, but still haven't moved off the Victory Quilt fabric--just got it the other day and oh la la! Everyone's ideas sound great, what beautiful quilts we'll produce.

Chriss, You think we're stirring things up now....just wait! lol just kidding.....we're jes sweet lil thangs....
I think I have my fabric chosen. I'll take a pic later and see what you think. Maybe it won't work. I'm working on a r/w/b now and I don't want to do another one right now. I did end up choosing a leaf pattern for what the book calls a zinger fabric. The rest are mostly TOT. One looks like it might be all the colors in the zinger leaf fabric mushed and swirled together.
DorothyM, We haven't had a serious storms yet....a little rain but not much. I think it must be going inland. @:)

sharonk--the ORANGE WAS YUMMY

you guys might think I am nuts but I am sorta (just sorta) thinking of making 2 blocks at a time. One in Christmas colors and the other in fall colors so that I will have 1 to give as a gift and can keep the other one.

Hey Carolyn that's a good idea, I couldn't decide what colors to go with but if I do two like you're doing I won't have as hard a time of picking my fabrics....
Went and picked up my book today at the lqs, it is a very nice book, I like all the blocks in it.
Thanks everyone,

I also figured that if I was doing 2 at a time the second block would go faster.
