Thanks for all the kind words! I did like March pattern! I like April pattern too!!! Got 2 Kansas Troubles turnovers to do mine (a bit bigger than called for, of course.)

Okay, using 'turn-overs' (triangles from 6" squares, but if you cut your own you can use a 5 1/2", possibly smaller) Pattern comes with 'scrappy' from a turnover or 'planned' from your stash (of course you can do scrappy from your stash too!) Just one quilt for April (thank goodness, have no clue how long it's going to take to get these all quilted!) Quilt is 3 X 4 rows of Ohio Star (12" finished) and Twisted star (Ohio star 'on point'--very clever way of doing it, I might add!) with background, borders and star centers need from yardage, one framing border from same yardage as star centers--will use an entire turnover (80 triangles) that you will trim (so if the triangles are a bit 'off' , no problem!)
Already took pattern to studio so I don't have yardage for the border, background--if you need it early, let me know!

Well, I guess you could make one from a charm pack cut on diagonal but it might be a bit smaller (there would certainly not be any/much extra to 'square up' even with a scant 1/4!) You end up squaring the 'hourglass' block to 4 1/2 so..... I think minimum size would have to be 5 1/4" with perfect seams to make it the same size (of course, it's easy to make it smaller, you would just make the center square and corners whatever size the hourglass block is.) If it's fun to make I might just have to use one of my charms and try it out!

Oh yes, the Quilt Blocks on American Barns is in (well, 2000 went to San Marcos and 3000 to Paducah store--in time for Quilt show!!!--rest of the 30,000 are being bound right now. My Stars Galore (with instructions) is in it and I also have my 6" Barn quilt in it. Unfortunately it gives credit to another girl from the class. How disappointing.

Oh, Sally, that is disappointing. Maybe they can do a "correction" as they often do for the other books--there are several on the website here. I hope both aren't wrong--be sure to bring this to their attention. I am getting so excited to get this book.

thanks for sympathy. Stars Galore has my name on it, just the Barn quilt had another name on it. If you get the book, it's the one on page 47 that's actually mine. (Now isn't that funny, I know exactly what page the 'wrong' one is and have no idea what page the 'right' one is!)

Goodness - I've not been on for about 10 days (some icky bug got me)and I have missed a LOT! The quilt tops, tablerunners, etc. are beautiful. Also love the pics of the dog.

I am joining together my hearts from Feb. I must admit, my squares do not even come CLOSE to being 9-1/2! What is up with that. I did choose to use muslin as the background fabric, but it was high-quality (and high-price!) muslin. That's the only thing I can figure out. Oh well, I am trudging ahead.

I do have all my fabric for the March pattern purchased - I'll probably start on the main quilt before finishing up the other Feb quilts. !!

Webwitch - love the quilts! "Ugly quilts need love too" - what a great quote! Although I've yet to see any ugly quilts here. I have my fabric barf quilt (the icky top from Jan) loaded on the quilting frame downstairs - I'm going to quilt that up before the end of the month.
