Happy New Year, All!

I'm hoping to try something new. Haven't been brave enough to do any applique blocks yet. DouceFleur1 and WeSignificant have done such a beautiful job that I am both encouraged and daunted by the task ahead. Maybe the New Year will make me brave. Found a new quilt shop to try in Paradise, CA where I'm visiting my parents. So nice!

Oh, YAY! Another applique block! I think they're my favorites! I'm gonna try to find time today to work on the new one---- going to have lunch at my Mom's, then hope to have a relaxing afternoon sewing!

Okay, I am caught up except for today's applique. I did my crossroads and for the second applique did a sunbonet sue. I will post pic of all the blocks together. Gotta finish my mystery quilt first though. I am just getting basics done on the applique and then will do the hand sewing, dressing up, etc. later when I have a little more time.

Sunbonnet Sue is one of my most favorite of all!! I'm thinking about adding one to my quilt-- maybe holding a basket of hearts or something to tie in with the "heart" theme...

I am going to attempt to embroider a boquet (sp?) of flowers in my Sue's hand.

I finally figured out my first and second applique block. SInce my theme is strawberries that is what the first two are and I will post when I get them done. Any ideas for other applique blocks??? Gotta be something besides strawberries that wouldn't look strange.
