This is my 3rd block (1st applique). I am trying to decide weather to do the tradition black blanket stitch, or use thread that matches eash piece. What do you all think? Okay, that didn't work, trying again.

Maybe this time!

So pretty!! I don't know which would be best for the applique stitch--- actually I've been tryinig to decide the same on my blocks. Currently, one is done with the black blanket-stitch, and the other is not .

Anyway, I love your block AND the colors!!

I'm thinking the same color. Got the Shoo fly done, now OMG I gotta find another applique! I had one picked out but can't find it now so will look for another.

Everyone's blocks are wonderful! You are all SO creative! I love seeing the pieced and applique block pictures posted. Doing the same things so many different ways, each quilt will be a unique expression of the creator. This is really a lot of fun and an inspiration.

Guess I will be 3 blocks behind when I get home.

DH left this morning to drive home to CA alone. I am staying to wait for baby Mya to arrive. Today is the due date. Dr. says he will not let her go past Jan. 6th.I will fly home on the 8th.

Prayers for a safe trip for DH and safe delivery for baby.

Thank you for your compliment.

Valerie, your appliqué is sooooo beautiful!!! great job. For the blanket stitch, it would beautiful either all in black or in colors. If it was me, and do in same colors as fabrics, I would take a color thread just a shade darker of each fabrics. :-)
