Itty - Always love talking to you on the phone. Glad I could help you finishing your block(s)

A Tip for everyone if you do not have a 12.5" ruler -
* tape some tracing or other paper you can see through together using the lines on your cutting mat to cut it to 12.5". Do not undercut.
* Draw lines corner to corner to form a "X". This will give you your center point on your paper to match the center point on your block.
* Stick a pin through the center point of your paper and lay it on top of your block matching the center points.
* Keeping the pin in the center - position the paper with one line of your "X" pointing to the tips of your triangles and the other to the color points.
* If you DO NOT see fabric on all sides especially on the color corners then you will need to recheck your added strips to make sure they are long and wide enough.

Hope the tip helps you. This is a FUN Block especially to use up so many scraps.

Uh Oh HoneyB - I am not sure what happened after your 1st block but I the other 3 are not going in the right direction :( :( If they are still usable to the winners then I will give you partial tickets for them but if not then I am sorry :(

Hey, Teresa, I think I got it. One done and working on 2nd one. Should go so much faster than the 1st one. Thank you so much for your help, Teresa.

My sewing room looks like a fabric tornado went thru it. When I finish the 2nd one, need to sort and regroup the mess. Think that is all I can handle this month but thanks for something different to think about.

Rod is having so many health problems again that I can't get big chunks of time to do things I would like to be doing. He is at PT right now and will come home aching again. 3rd dr apptmt this week, all diff drs. Keeps us busy but maybe someday he will get back to feeling a little better again. Think the cold cold weather is really causing havoc with his feet and legs.

Hope to get these in the mail in a few days. What do I put them in and how do I label them? Sorry for the ?????? but never did lotto before. Want to try to do it right.

Hugs, Shirley Mae ps everyone's blocks look so pretty. What a charming little scrappy block. And I think I finally conquered it.

Updates our plans have changed and we won't be home until late late afternoon on Tuesday. Rob has a meeting at 7pm so we need to be home by then. Will make my blocks on Wednesday yea!!!!

Itty - That is wonderful news about being able to finish the blocks. You should see my room when i finish my projects. OoooWeee my head spins when I look at it and I have to clean it up BEFORE I start another one - LOL!!!!! Sent you a PM with details of mailing.

I am sorry to hear Rod has continuing aches and pains in the feet. Cold does do that. Have you tried putting the little packets of heat in his socks. You can get them at Walmart.

Teresa, Two Scrappy Blocks are winging their way to you today. I ran by the post office before 4 so should have gone out on afternoon truck. Not sure how long it takes to get to CA from MO. When I sent a pkg for Christmas to Vegas went by way of Des Moines, IA and then some place in Calif before it got back to Vegas. If they don't take the scenic route, should be there in a few days.

I will work on a poetic bribe in the next few days. Okay? Hope you had a nice trip and get rested up when you get home. That retirement stuff can wear you out, big time. LOL

Thanks for all your help on this scrappy block. Hope I will remember what all I learned with this one. Thanks everyone else who tried to encourage me or make it sound simpler. I was over thinking it big time. But I did with a lot of hair pulling, some prayers, and all your help. God bless you all.

Hugs, Shirley Mae

Edited: Honey has asked for the 3 blocks be returned as she loves the stripes going the long way so I will do as she has requested. Still wonderful effort and I can't wait to see more blocks and fabric choices from her in the future :) :) :)

HoneyB your blocks have arrived. Great colors, great Fabs. In 1 block the stripes are going the right way but the other 3 are going the wrong way. I will give you partial tickets for them and will still pass them on to the winners as they can add fabrics to them and add the triangles on the correct side. Wonderful work! I can feel the excitement in making them.

Valerie - Your blocks have arrived also! As with HoneyB wonderful colors and choices of fabs. I also love the tiny hearts in your WOW triangles. Glad I changed and let you all use WOW's. Need to keep a look out for that fab :) :)

To ALL - The Lotto is an exciting place to be and sometimes we rush to make the block so we can see how FUN it is. Be careful and slow down just a bit making sure your layout is correct before you sew. I can't tell you how many times I have had to do some Froggin' :) :)

Looks like I really need to put the pedal to the floor and finish stitchin' mine. Vacations are FUN but they take away from my sewin' time :) :)

Flo - your blocks arrived and are SO HAPPY to be among the others just waiting to see where they will be headed home to. You have great eyes for color and fabric choices just like everyone has this month.

Jacquie - Your blocks also came the other day but I am slow on posting. Again wonderful choices of colors and Fabs and I LOVE my MINI!!!!! It is now with the others just waiting till the right time to put them all together but they still tell me there are more coming - LOL!!!! Have FUN on your Cruise!! Is Stephen going with you and the family??? OooLaLa :) :)

Here are my 2 blocks. I am hoping to make some more if time will allow. Want to make sure I get my sample blocks for February's Lotto done when I post the thread and not at the end of it - Silly me.

I found the secret to a scrappy block, is to literally put your scraps into one big pile. Then you close your eyes and take one. It keeps it random. This keeps me from over thinking the whole thing.

It was a blast. I am going to put more blocks together just to try to finish up my scraps. this gives me a reason to make more scraps!!!
