Here are my four blocks Caroline. They're going out tommorow. So you should get them by end of week or early next week. Also wish you a belated birthday. These blocks are gonna be great.

Y seams aren't that bad. Just be sure you mark your 1/4" seam allowances all over and do not go past it with your sewing machine needle. An open-toe foot is good for this because you can see where you are and stop in time. Set in 1 side and don't even worry about the other side when you're doing it. Stop at the 1/4" and backstitch. Then, rearrange that block so you can do the other side. You can begin or end at the intersection. It really doesn't matter.
I learned how to do the Y seams by hand at my first quilting lessons. Once you know the secret of stopping at that 1/4" mark, using the machine with open-toe foot is a snap. Try it. Some of the most beautiful squares need Y seam parts.

Hi Caroline. With all that's been going on with the site today (Some updates are missing) I just thought I'd check with you to see if you received my blocks for the Oct. lotto. I mailed them last week. Thanks, Lawanna

OK, I am going to have to give up on this one. I made what I thought was going to be a great looking broken star from Quilters Cache, but.... I made so many mistakes, had to recut the whole background cause I was disoriented and had bias at outside edges, then snipped on color just a bit too short. And in the end my points went all the way to the corners so in putting blocks together they would end up chopped off. And now I ran out of WOW,
But here is a picture so I can at least show off what I got for all my work. I will probably make a gift of it to a non-quilting friend who will just think it is fine. OH these 'muggles' so easily fooled.

I have to give you a lot of credit for even trying that pattern. Looks like it would be a very good candidate for paper pieceing. At least you tried it!

I hope you just mean you are giving up on the block and not the lotto. Caroline makes nice choices for us. This is one of the few quilters choice times we get to do every now and then.

Stay with it, you'll conquer it!
