Susie I was looking at the book the other day thinking I haven't done a lot of paper piecing myself and the blocks are small. This is how we learn though. I am going to try real hard not to stress out over them and to just have fun. I will do what I can and since no quilt police at my house, it will be fine. Think Positive thoughts!

Dont be nervous:) Lets just hope the experts in this group give us quick fixes to make some of the blocks easy as pie:) Paper piecing hummmmm got two books and a whole pack of the paper bought it years ago and never got the nerve to do it. Well here I go. Even with the challenge ahead I am sooooo excited Jumping around like my lil kids with joy to see all your pretty color choices. :) I found a whole box of off white scraps so may use as borders if enough. Who knows Its amazing what you find when you clean out the sewing bins LOL Did you see me post where I found two silk nightgowns from my bridal shower in 86. LOL they still fit although nature has cruel joke with gravity:))))) 27 years later :)

I was afraid of paper piecing but after trying this method I love it. I can get exact points and don't have to worry about seam allowances. There are lots of great demos on You Tube. Yes, the blocks are quiet small, but since there are shorter seams they go together quickly. I'm thinking these blocks will improve my sewing skills on paper piecing and y-seams. Besides if we have trouble, there is ALWAYS someone here ready to help... Don't worry, let's just enjoy sewing together.

For those looking for a paper piecing tute, here is a very helpful one that I had posted over on the other thread.

I also highly recommend the add-a-quarter ruler...it has a "lip" that fits over the piece you fold back so that you can cut correctly.

Hope y'all find it helpful.

Can't wait to follow along and see your progress.

I'm getting excited!!!!

I just came home from being on the road with hubby in the semi. He wants me to go with him again late September. Sooooo I just ordered a travel sewing machine that works on batteries or electricity. He has a small drawer that is also a table. And Walla I can sew. I just need to take all my fabrics and maybe by that time I will have my blocks all cut up. All I need is to sew. We shall see.

I was looking the blocks over again today and I think I've decided on 4 inch blocks. I will probably go with a group of colors, from whatever I have in my stash. Not long now until we start. Hope I don't change my mind again!!
