Mel- Those are so cute!!! Your satin stitch is just beautiful. How lucky to have an embroidery gadget. You must have had really nice thread too. Great Job!

Debbie, thanks so much for checking in. Keep us posted on your progress. Thanks again, Vinae

Progress Report!

I have all my cup cakes sewn! Will photo later when I get them laid out! I hope they pass muster! Y'all will cut me some "newbie" slack won't you?

Here's a question for you... I cut all my background squares at about 9.5" so there would be room for shrinkage... should I trim them all down to 8.5 before I mail them, or do you want to square up as you go?

Oh Mel you have caused me to sin as I am coveting your machine. I would love to be able to have a machine to do this "WOW" workmanship. It is beautiful!!!!! What kind of machine do you have? Maybe I should put it on my wishlist. Can't wait to see them up close with all the other awesome blocks :) :) :)

Teresa, you are too funny! I have a Pfaff Creative 4.0. I must admit that I don't do a whole lot with the embroidery attachment other than for these kinds of swaps.

Maryq, we usually just square them up ourselves. I can't wait to see yours. Don't forget to post a pic.

Just checking in. I have one block completely done. Twenty four blocks have the cup part appliqued on the background square. Twenty four frosting sewn to interfacing with soluble thread. What's the phrase "Slow and steady wins the race." March 10 us vert doable.

Mary- you don't have to square up your block. Just send them. We can all square up our own sets when we get them. Looking forward to your blocks. If you don't post a pic, I will post one when they arrive. Thanks Vinae

Sharon-Thanks for the update. Keep up the good work.

Mary Margaret, all your cupcakes are so beautiful. Nice fabrics and colors, especially on 4th row, 2nd one from the left... my favorites colors! Can't wait to see which one I'll get, to see them all. :-)
