Sonya, I do that with fabric if it's too white and I need something more muted. It's a waste of good coffee, but the sacrifice is worth it. Lori

Lori...I totally agree!...I am also glad to know someone other than me uses a coffee dye!

This is going to be a great swap!..

OK I am in for the Merry-go-Round in the Free Pattern Section. Easy one for me if I can get the colors right.

It reminds me of the Amish Sprocket Quilt I saw on my trip to PA. I don't have the pattern though maybe I will play with it from the picture http://www.dianeloomisquilts.com/galler ... ockets.htm

Sonya, you are right, Lori is a great hostess.

Lori, my DH would not be thrilled if I used his coffee to dye a quilt. As it is we have two coffee pots and he drinks two pots of his and finishes off mine each day.

Teresa, solid colors, no prints, not whites or creams. don't over think it.

I have been looking at quilt patterns and there are some really interesting designs out there. I'm going to have fun with this swap.

Chriss, if you use Jerry's coffee for fabric dye, just tell him about my DMIL who used Dad's beer to rinse her hair once a week! He got so mad at her! lol!!

Thanks, Lori, for allowing me to change my block. At first I didn't think I wanted to even join this swap. Solids aren't my thing. I didn't even have any in my stash! But I started playing around with ideas and sketches, looked at other blocks and now I'm having the time of my life! Surprised myself! Thank you, Lori! You encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and I discovered a lot of new quilty things about myself! Joy!! I hope others 'take the dare', too!

MaryZ...I love your block!..I am so glad you joined..:)
For someone who didn't work with solids you sure outdid yourself with your block..

I have AT LEAST 2 bins of solids..

I really hope, like you said..others join this challenge...I really think when all is said and done I believe they would wish they would of...I have been on here for YEARS (first as neonbrooch)...and I do believe this is the first swap of its kind!

Thanks again, Lori...I can't wait to get the blocks back and we haven't even had the sign up cut off!...

I will hopefully get my sample made tomorrow...

Sonya
(Edited to say what I meant...🙄..at least I think so.);
