Another dumb question. Someone said do not sew the small blocks together. So, we just make the stripsets and send 4 of those? Or do we put 1 this way and the other one that way and stitch around and cut? And each of those 4 counts as 1 block?
I think I'm too old for this afterall. lol.

Hi Joanne - Welcome to the Lotto Block Swap!!!! The only Dumb Question here is one that is not asked so THANKS for ASKING!!! Now lets see if I can answer them all for you.

* WOW = white on white (you see a pattern but the fabric is all white)
* Printed white is a fabric that has a white background with colors
* You have the math correct for the 4 strips being an 8.5" block first and then the magic begins and when you are finished they are awesome 5 5/8" blocks.
* It is only an option if you would like to try the 5 strips which would be a 10.5" before the magic begins. I haven't made one yet so I don't know the measurements of the 5 strips. Is it 6.5"?
* We are mainly only doing the 4 strips one but if you wanted extra tickets to win I suggested trying it using 5 strips BUT this is optional.

** What you send to me will be the 5 5/8" blocks in sets of 4. Any blocks made from the 5 strips and the 2.5" single strips are optional but they get you more tickets to win.

Well I hope I answered all your awesome questions. You are definitely NOT to old to do this and i sure hope to see you join us.
See the picture of the blocks Jacquie made. She laid them out but they are not sewn together. Only her sample blocks that she made did she turn into a pillow for her kids - She is such a sweetie!!!
Feel free to ASK AWAY if I missed anything.
WELCOME AGAIN!!!!!

Since I didn't make it to the post office today to get my sets in the mail, I thought I would make one of the sets with five strips. The measurement for one of the four once cut is 7X7 inches. Here's a picture of the 5 strip block ( not sewn together, just alined ). Joan

Teresa, I mailed my package out to you today. I hope you like them.
Jacquie, they are made from pieces of fabric that I cut into strips. I don't generally buy jelly rolls, I have enough fabric to use!

Thanks for the update Joan and Jacquie. I will keep my eyes open and try to sit still while I wait although I feel the excitement and have turned into a Mexican Jumping Bean - LOL!

Joan your 5 strip blocks are beeeeeeeautiful!!!! Great job! Extra tickets in your name for sure!!!!

I am 99% not a Jelly Roll person. While they are great for giving you a very wide assortment of colors I have not only heard horror stories of the strips being wavy and not quite 2.5" wide. I will not attest to all of them as I have played it safe and not tried them all. I am merely saying "Buyer Beware" and I hope you have better luck than I and my friends have had :)

an extra ticket for a "pick me" strip. Now, does that mean selvage to selvage? Because I ordered fat quarters. Can I send 2 of those for 1 selvage to selvage???
