Re: Quilt's from El's kitchen
Is there anyone else who has pre-ordered but not received their book? I guess I need to take the time to call QIAD customer service. I haven't heard anything.
Debbie
Edit: I just sent them an e-mail inquiring if they have my order. I ordered on 3/5/13.

I called last week and still haven't received my book. So today I called again, and they processed the order while I was on the phone. So hopefully I should get the book in a few days.

WooHoo..I got my book. I need to look it over. How about we start the sew-a-long in June? How does that sound?

Hey Lori!
I'm in Walnut (LA County) Just north of Diamond Bar, West of Pomona, South of West Covina. I work in Montebello. I just started working there 2 weeks ago! You would not believe the journey I have been on for the past 1 1/2 years since getting laid off. I was determined not to take a minimum wage job. Out of the blue, someone contacted me--they are an industrial sewing supplies distributor - thread, fusible web, batting, spray adhesive, pattern paper, velcro, etc.
I'm in heaven! and God is good!
I did get a phone call from QIAD and tried to call them but just got answering machine. I don't know what happened to my order.
Was your book signed personally by El? I am hearing that it was a printed signature? Just curious.

Debbie you are very close by. I thought you lived up north for some reason. I'm in Fullerton on the border of Brea by the mall. Sounds like you scored the perfect job.
Yes the book is personally signed by Eleanor on the first page inside. I belong to the book club, so I automatically get the new books when they come out. I don't know if that's different from pre-ordering.
Do you belong to any guild in the area? I go to lots of local quilt shows. We'll have to meet up a one, one of these days.
Hope your book arrives soon. You might want to contact QIADlinda on here. She might be able to get it out to you quicker.

Lori,
Wow, you are close. We love to go to Brea for Lucille's, Buca di Beppo, Cheesecake Factory, or The Hat.
I never miss the Road to California. I've been to Long Beach Show once. I liked the Road better. But I'll have to give it another try.
I don't belong to a guild. I've often thought about it but I'd like to possibly join one. I usually get together with my BFF from Monrovia every other weekend to sew on Sunday. We spend 4-6 hours chatting, eating, and working on quilts.
I like QIAD community. I like trying new stuff and the swaps usually make me try something new.

I haven't called back about my book. It's on my list of things to do.
