Haha Jacquie, I like a bit of a challenge
thought about the England flag but as it's just a red cross on a white background I had to add to it to make it more interesting, so as I was adding the blue and trying diffent looks it ended up looking slightly like the union Jack so I thought I might as well go for that one.........it won't be too bad once I've got all the pieces cut out, then I can just assembly piece - at least we're limited to 20 LOL

Quilterscache has lots of blocks either with the state name or having to do with the different states... let us know which you would like to do.

would you believe i only have about 1/2 yard of red fabric in my stash!!!!!!!!!! I'm not real fond of red, so I tend to stay away from it for stashbuilding, so i guess that means a trip to the store..........oh, my what a punishment LOL somehow i'll come up with something.........
please put me down for Colorado tumbleweed block. I have a personal story about a Colorado tumbleweed that I intend to include with the block.
hugs and happy new year everyone. carol/kittyquilt

Kitty(Carol) ~ My stash has a seriously low amount of blue in it. I resisted going to the LQS today, I'm going to try to make all of my blocks out of my stash. They're all washed, tonight I'll iron them & get them cut out. Tomorrow will be the day for trying out the pattern & see how well it works out.
Happy New Year to all!

i like your block, Mary, but you'll decide if the red is just what you want.
I seriously looked at my chosen block today and realized it was "an advanced level block". Fortunately it was one of El's books and I have the DVD to go with it. so I watched the DVD and when she does it, what's written makes so, so much sense. So I assured myself I can do this block, if she makes it look that easy, it will just be a bit difficult for me AND she showed where the "tricky" parts are and how to do them.
Now just to get the right combination of colors....................
