Unfortunately, due to health reasons, I've been unable to work since January 2009. I love our local football team, the Green Bay Packers and never miss a game.

15. Some tidbits of info about me I am a wife 44 years, A mom to 4 grown great kids. A grandmom to 10 of the most beautiful grand children, Foster mom to one ornery cat, rescued and ungrateful but I love her anyway.

3. Colors I don't like: Neon colors; dull colors; avocado/pea soup green; and oranges that are too red or too yellow (I like rusty oranges, though)

4. My favorite styles of fabric: Calicos, small prints, and blenders – sort of traditional/country/Civil War types; some 30s and shabby chic types that blend well with the others. I tend to make mostly scrappy quilts so I like fabrics that 'play nice' with others.

5. Fabric styles I don't like: ‘Mod’ or retro 60s/70s designs, paisley or geometric prints; large-scale prints; I usually avoid oriental prints, plaids, and novelty fabrics

6. Quilt patterns I would like to have: Easy quilts, tablerunners, wallhangings, or tote bags

7. Do you applique? By hand, but I don’t do it often. I did try it by machine once, and it turned out okay.

8. How to you quilt your projects? Stitch in the ditch or tie. I’d like to learn how to machine quilt, though.

9. My favorite candy: Chocolate! – especially with caramel, like Rolos, Milky Way, and Twix, or plain, like M&Ms and Hershey Kisses

My hobbies: Making different blocks for sampler quilts; Making simple crafty things; Stamping and scrapbooking (someday I’ll get back to it); Watching movies - usually Disney/Pixar type movies, mysteries, or romantic comedies (I love ‘While You Were Sleeping’ and ‘You’ve Got Mail’). And now I have to add Pinterest to the list.

11. My pets: We have 2 cats, although we’d rather have a dog. (Our 17 year old cat died this summer. Our dog died a few years ago and DH says we can’t get another dog until all the cats die.)

12. Things I like to collect: Keychains and magnets (especially from places I visit); Snowmen, cows, chickens, bunnies, and carousel horses; Pretty postage stamps from around the world; Trivia, silly jokes, riddles, and puns

13. ALLERGY ALERTS: Housework! Officially allergic to grass and mold; dislike cigarette smoke and strong perfumes (And just in case it matters... I don't drink coffee or tea.)

14. My little wish list: I love to get postcards that show where people live or visit; Getting 5” charms or 2 ½” strips cut from your stash would be fun; I don’t mind getting re-gifted books, magazines, or patterns. And in case you want to know, we have JoAnn's, Beverly's, and Hobby Lobby nearby.

15. Some tidbits about me: I’m a 56-year-old, short redhead. I grew up in Nashville, TN. I started sewing when I was twelve, but have only been quilting (okay, mostly making quilt tops) for about 8 years. I moved to Utah after college and that’s where I met my husband, Darrel. We got married in August 1980 and moved to central California for his job. I’ve been lucky to be a stay at home mom. We have two girls and three boys, from 21 - 31. We have two Eagle Scouts and have sent three of our children on missions for our church. We have eight grandchildren, ranging from 8 months to 8 years old.

I am currently busy at church with girls, ages 12 - 18. This was the first summer in about 20 years that I was not involved with Cub Scout Day Camp. Most of those summers I was the Director of our local Day Camp for about 50 – 70 boys. (I love the bad jokes and singing the silly songs!)

I can rarely make a quick trip to any fabric store, bookstore, or Walmart. (My husband refers to 'my time' or 'real time' when asking how long I will be at Walmart.) And now that I have discovered Pinterest, I can spend a lot of time there, too. And I am really good at procrastination!
