I'm sure GQ will post the rules as soon as she can. I voted for 12" so I would have a larger quilt, quicker. I love embroidery! I can't do it, well I can blanket stitch by hand. This will be fun! Maybe someone will do redwork, oh I just love redwork! Amie :o)

i will post as soon as possible it will most likely be tommorrow afternoon as tonight is pretty full and i have some followups from my surgery to do in the am but tommorrow afternoon i will post

i hope that is ok with everyone

this is going to be such fun i am thinking everyone do a type and style of sunbonnet sue that reflects you so dress her any way you want - i also think it would be fun to have different sewing styles, applique, raw edge applique, embroderied, embellished of not just as long as they are all the same size and they are all sues

how does that sound to everyone

Sounds like there is enough interest to start a swap. WE NEED SOMEONE TO HOST. WHO WANTS TO DO IT?????

I wouldn't want to make 30-40 blocks. What do you think about 20 blocks and we could make any kind of SBS we want. We would have to decide what size of blocks and colors--pastel, 30's reproductions, fall colors, true brights.....A 12 inch block sounds good to me, then if someone wants it smaller, you could cut it down.

I have done 3 SBS quilts, they are soooo much fun. I'd love to have blocks from you girls.

I'd love to join.
Can we do fused with a straight or blanket stitch?

Checkers, a fused applique or blanket stitch sounds good to me. I was considering the fused-machine applique like El does. That would look good and be quick.
I think pieced Sues would be fine

Could you do different style SBS. Like an one with Angel wings, or like flying a kite or like a winter one, who is building a snowman, or would you want just traditional SBS.

I say we all get to choose how we want to dress our "Sue", that's the fun part. If everyone is using a different technique to make her then it doesn't make sense to me to dress her the same. This would be a good scrap project, too :o) This is going to be a good swap. GQ is going to host it, but she needs a day or so to work out the guidelines. 12" sounds good to me,too-faster to piece and bigger too. Amie

PS- Maybe we can swap by March 15 or 20?? .......ducking from GQ!!)LOL ;o)

Don't forget that the end of march is the Autograph block swap.

Embroidery from me will be with a machine & I just might be able to accomodate the redwork fan!!! That is my favorite too!! One day soon I am going to do a redwork or bluework or greenwork quilt. I get my embroidery machine back tomorrow I hope & then watch out!!!

Count me in, GQ
