I'm so excited!! I finally decided on my blocks......not the fabrics yet, just the design. I'll keep it a secret for a little while longer but it's a quilt block that I fell in love with a few years ago and I'm sure it will be wonderful in fall colors.

If we need more than 20 blocks, I can make them but they won't be identical to the 20 I just finished. I'm completely out of some of the fabric.

Is anybody else having a problem finding the right fabric? I have my pattern picked out, but I am having the devil of a time picking fabric! What colors are everybody else picking? Browns, yellows, orange or greens? Or reds? Just have not found something that is SCREAMING at me yet. I have looked on QIAD, gone to different other FQS sites, local FQS. I can't even find a focal fabric. Frustrating!!! :) S

Coyote

I have the opposite problem, I have the perfect fabric, but can't decide on the block pattern! I even tried making up one of my own and failed miserably. Back to the drawing board! I actually used to piece of 12x12" scrapbook paper to try to design the block, but my math was way off and the practice block I made looks like um um should I say ... __________!

Am going to try another idea tomorrow. Since I got 95% of my house/yard chores done today.. tomorrow is a sewing day. But it's after midnight here in MN so I better get to bed!

OK........after problems with the block I fell in love with, I tried it again and IT WORKED!! Plus it actually measured 12 1/2". You all don't know how relieved I am. I found the perfect material in my stash so that really helped me out. Now just have to finish the rest of my blocks. Should we make 25 in case we get a couple more that sign up before the end of the month?

I only have enough fabric for 20 blocks also. Am using from my stash so likely won't be able to find it again. It is at least a year old. In fact, i used it last thanksgiving. I may be able to squeeze 5 more out of some other fabric but that would be the best I could do.

I plan to make a couple extra blocks to keep for my greedy self! I bought quite a bit of each fabric, so hopefully there will be some left for me to play with once my blocks are done.

Maryq, I'm glad I'm not the only one here that had trouble with getting the sample to come out right! OMG, I hate doing all that cutting and sewing only to find I really screwed up!!

Been doing a bit of stitching on the blocks, making the center motif, trying to get up the courage to start on the half-square triangles, the ones I completely messed up last week!
