Mary - your list sounds like mine except for the shoveling snow. Dh always knows when I am knee deep in a project and nearing the end when all the tidbits travel or follow with me into the other rooms.
He is a dear to help me with the wash and 1 of the bathrooms and last week he did do the top of the stove but then again he was the one who made the mess. LOL
Pam the blocks looks GREAT!!! The comment is right you can't get better than that. When I start making a pile of blocks I have a space allocated for them out of the way of traffic and when I put 1 on top of the others it stays there and does not move so the threads don't start to ravel.
When I made my blocks fro the Lotto I used a combination of different colors in one block and added a brown for the stem - like you talked about so I agree and love your idea.
I picked up some of the greens and yellows for Connecting Threads a long time ago. Can't wait to start but need to finish the States first.
Happy stitching!

Check this out. If you don't want to make a quilt will just maple leaves in it, how about a border around pumpkins? This is a lap size quilt, and it only has leaves on the top and bottom, but I think I could just put leaves all the way around (depending on how many join, I may have to make a couple extra) and wouldn't it be just loverly????? Just a thought for those that hadn't joined yet and were wondering what you could do with maple leaves.

Edit: Well, if I would have read the directions before posting, I would have realized that the leaf blocks are 6" instead of 12. So, unless you make really, really, really big pumpkins, this won't work for the maple leaf swap we are working on now. Shoot, well maybe a queen or king sized quilt?

Re: MapleLeaf Swap - Marcy?
Thanks so much for sharing this pattern with us. WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA and it looks pretty simple!!!!
OH - I just rec my package from CraftandFabricLinks.com
I was a little bit nervous about ordering BUT I am so pleased beyond words. The price of the fabric and shipping were awesome and the fabric looks and feels terrific. I just wished I could have ordered it from QIAD.
It is called white spiral stars on cream
The white is so tiny it looks like a TOT so you really see the cream first. A great blend it will be with the colors. Sort of looks like the wind is blowing the colors around.
Oh I am excited to start but have to finish the States first.

I have 1 done! YEAH!!! Hopefully the more I do the easier it will get, I almost always have some trouble on the 1st one or 2
) Here's a pic. Oh is it me or can you tell right side and wrong side of batiks? Some are easy but some I have turned every which way but loose LOL and beats the heck out of me which is the right side.

YEA! One done and you are so right. There are some I can't quite tell the front or the back but some are obvious. I try to hold it up to the light and then I put tiny on the fabric after I cut it to remind me which is front and back. I love your Colors!!! the first one is always the one that takes the longest but then it is smooth sailing forward.
Don't forget (everyone) to make sure your block is at least 12.5" and don't square it up.
You did awesomely great!

With true batiks it is extremely difficult to tell the back from the front. I study it too to see which is brighter.

They say you pay for both sides of the fabric. One of the scrappy teachers at our guild said you double your selection when you consider both sides.

OK now that you explained it I see why at times they are more expensive that other fabrics.
Tina - AWESOME colors - great job! I have the upper right hand color. I love it for the Fall when the colors are green but starting to turn reds and browns.
I'll start mine as soon as I am done with the State blocks.
