I'm going to do a block called "Eight Hands Around" to represent the many happy years my husband and I square danced.

GP.........if I had to choose between Julia or Delta Burke, I think I'd pick Delta's character. You seem to have alot of "spunk" like she did. I love reading your posts and learning the "Southern" way. Pretty good considering I'm a "Yankee."

Quilt1932 - that sounds like fun! I remember in High School - back when dinosaurs ruled the earth! I took European Folk Dancing. It was taught zero period by the English teacher. It was how she got in her exercise everyday. I originally took it because we didn't have to wear gym clothes, just had to have comfortable shoes on with our school clothes. It was a lot of fun. But not enough guys in the class. My best friend and I took turns leading.

Well, I chose a block called Symmetry in Motion, from WWQP's free block patterns. Now that I've got it increased in size from 6" to 12 1/2" I am tempted to call it Carole's Bane...Carole's Headache...or PIA (Pain In A**) LOL! Been playing with the components and it doesn't look like the original any more, so the jury is still out.

On my little detour on the way to the cabin (a quilt shop 1/2 way there) I found the PERFECT Minnesota Fabric, but I'm going to keep it a surprise HA HA HA
Now I just have to find a block pattern with a 4.5" center square and I'll have to made!

Carole, that's a neat block. Have you thought about doing it all in half-square triangles?
Maryq, you're gonna make us wait?! :^(

Evie, that's exactly what I did---once I got the size alteration worked out---and the half-square triangles are so much easier than the original instructions! I drew it up on graph paper and swiped the girls' colored pencils to work out the color placement.

Are you kidding?? Swipe from the poor kids???
I have at least two sets of colored pencils - all my own! LOL!! Told DH he wasn't to touch my sharpy markers, either. (He pushes down too hard and the pens loose their point.)
