My leaves blew in to Texas yesterday, It was like a breath of fall as I opened the package and began sorting the charms... The colors are gorgeous, I am anxious to get busy working with them... Thanks to everyone for the beautiful fabric choices, and a special thanks to Carol for taking time to host this for all of us!! This swap was real joy to be in....

WOW! Was it ever windy in Iowa today! In fact- it blew in a gust of leaf charms today! And I am absolutely loving them! You gals certainly shared some beautiful fabrics in this swap! Thank you....I can hardly wait to sew them up into a gorgeous quilt!
Carol- thanks so much for organizing this swap! You were the 'Perfect Hostess" (said while extending my pinky finger as I daintily sip from my elegant teacup)!

My leaves arrived yesterday! It was soooooo much fun to look through all the different big and small leaves and try to imagine just how to use them. They are so pretty! Thank you to everyone who sent charms and to teacup for being a great hostess. :^)

I finally got around to taking a picture of the quilt top I made using the Fall leaves charms! The quilt has 3 applique blocks incorporated in it, and I posted individual pictures of those blocks as well! This was a fun quilt to make and I can't wait to get it basted and start quilting on it! Maybe I'll be able to finish it before Fall of 2009!

I really do need to come up with a better way to get pictures of my quilts--- they're always so lopsided!! LOL

Gwen, I love it! You did such a great job! Did you cut those 8" squares down or leave them at that size? I like the sheltie you put on your applique too. You are so clever!

Thank you all for the kind compliments!
Lori, I cut the charms into 4 pieces, so the pieces are 4 x 4 inches. I used almost all the charms, and it is a pretty big quilt! Probably the biggest I've made yet. I knew that I wanted to do some applique in the quilt, and love Sunbonnet Sue, so decided to add a sheltie too. It's supposed to look like they're playing in the leaves together!

Your quilt turned out very pretty. I like the way the sashing sets off each block. And as much as I am fond of Sunbonnet Sue, I really like your pumpkin applique block. You've got plenty of time to finish quilting it by the fall.
