I went to the paper piecing templates to try printing them. When I did, they were not true to size. I played around with the printing percentage and finally got it to the right size. It gives you a one inch square to measure up to.

I will give it a try, since I do not have the triangle ruler. Hope it works OK. I think I am all ready to go, just need to get some fabric home to play with.

Are you wanting us to stay in the pastel range of colors this month?

Velda what percent did you use? I don't have thr ruler either.

Also, how do we square without the second ruler?

What a great block! This is actually one of my favorites. I like to do mine paper piecing easier for me. The last time I made a bunch of these I paired with snowball it was a beautiful quilt . Great choice block and fabrics !

Velda - I would like to go a medium color. Not to light, not dark. Really want the flowers to pop against the white and not blend into it.
Are you paper piecing? When you finish sewing you cut on the outside lines. 4.5" block. Very important to Review Ellen squaring it up on the video. I love watching her videos. I am such a visual person. Call me if you have questions.

I told my printer to go to 150% and when the sheet printed, I measured the one inch square and it looked right.

No I don't plan to paper piece, but I thought this template would help me to square up. I haven't started anything yet, so I will let you all know what happens when I get started.

Mary - GREAT fabrics in your block and wonderful points in the center. As this is the place to practice new blocks I need to mention this tip so it will be helpful to everyone.

I see you are having a bit of difficulty with the center triangle blocks. Again wonderful points except for one in the center of the blocks but the edges are off which makes me think that your ruler or template wasn't in the right place when you squared them up.

When you square this block up you will only see about 1/8" of the colored fabric on the bottom corners. Look at the top center of the sample block and also look at Eleanor in the video or check it in the book. When you stitch them all together you loose the color and have 1/4" edge seam with no colors.

Definitely NOT expecting perfection here but again this is the place to practice and enjoy your block. I am thinking if you were to take them apart and recheck your triangle blocks you will find this out.

Would the trip recs rulers work for this? They make a triangle in a square? I have those.
