Jeanne and Gabriele the secret Santa is a direct swap. If you join your name will be given to some one and you will receive a name. You will have, I think, three months to send something to your "elf". You supply a list of likes/ dislikes so you can shop/be shopped for. It can be a lot of fun. I hope this helps.

To our new folks, the Secret Santa isn't like the other 'swaps'. It's more like the Secret Pal thing that is held quarterly. Only Christmasier. names of the participants are pulled out of a hat. You receive the name of your "elf". It's kind of like filling a Christmas stocking and, in fact, one year we all did make stockings to send. Then you include little gifts - notions, FQ's, books, something you make, quilty tools, magazines, candy, ornaments, etc. I think most that have been doing it a long time shop sales through the year. Most folks also include a letter telling about themselves.

some "Santas" send little teaser gifts in the weeks leading up to the big gift opening day. a card, a FQ, an ornament . . But it's not required.

There is a thread of "hints" that you can add your name to with your likes, dislikes, and hearts' desires. It's fun!

WOW How great to see so much interest in Secret Santa already!
Especially from you new gals!!

I'm still trying to put thoughts together in my head, before I put them on paper and then post them here. Some night while I'm sitting casually on my magic couch, I'll get things worded with exactly how I want to approach the whole Topic and will post an Official Topic by August 1st.

I would love to have lots of gals join in the fun this year.

This will be our 7th Annual Secret Santa!! Can you believe it! Where has the time gone! It's been such a joy for me to plan this every year, even with a few glitches now and then I think everybody has had a good time and been blessed with great gifts---all in the spirit of GIVING.
