Sorry, I meant that the blocks would be 10 1/2 inches. I have already enlarged the patterns in the website that I listed if anyone wants to use those instead of making up their own.

Evie, a victorian block would be made out of satin, taffeta, chintz, lace, lightweight upholstery fabric, etc. I see that so far everyone would like to try the scrappy look, which can also look very pretty, especialy when embellished with embroidery.
I have a picture of a sewing box lid that I am making using a crazy quilt square in a scrappy style.

Also a picture of a more victoria heart, except it does not have any type of embellishments. This is done with 2 inch wide strips of fabric and ribbon instead of larger sections of fabric.

I might be interested if we're going to do scrappy (I'm assuming that means all cotton fabrics). This would be a good way for me to get acquainted with all of the pretty stitches my machine can do. I'll keep an eye on this swap to see what happens.
SewSew, those are both really pretty.

Yes, sadiedaisy, scrappy would be all cotton fabrics. I like to do crazy quilt blocks because you can use your scraps and your imagination.

Is this multiple blocks or just one or two like the Block Lotto swap?
Have Fun,

Machine stitches, I thought we were talking about hand embroidery. Sorry, I misunderstood.

And now for the dumbest question you might have heard today (drum roll please).....
How are you doing the decorative stitching by machine? Looks like you pieced together the block and pressed the seams. Did you then go back over the seams with your decorative stitches?
I am going to play with some tomorrow and see if I can get a lovely block made before I commit.

Ladies, please do not confuse this with Craftindj's grandmother flower garden swap.
