JUDI - your blocks are truly beautiful! And I love October! If there are any flaws, they don't show here in WA!

Judi, love your blocks! They look awesome too ❤❤

I'm going to start mine today after we get back from taking groceries to Dad's.

I've got my June applique pieces on fusible, I'm picking the fabrics from my stash as I go. I came back here to re-look at MZ and Judi's to make sure I'm understanding the background. Sharing pics and tips are so helpful to me,
thanks 🥰
After I get all my fusible onto fabric I'll sit in my recliner and cut out.

Here is a tip I've finally figured out after doing 6 backgrounds. (I'm a slow learner!). I'm finding if I cut the background pieces exactly as they say, and use scant 1/4" seams, my background ends up at EXACTLY 12-1/2 inches. Personally, I prefer them to be a hair larger because they tend to shrink up when you applique everything down. I like a wee bit of wiggle room so from now on, I"m going to cut all my background pieces a few threads larger than directed.

I finished my June block except for Bees, I'll either make some or see if I can find buttons and I still need the doorknob but not sure yet what I'm doing for that yet either. I'll work on the 6" blocks next.
Oh, since this one I didn't cut the background a hair bigger I did a loose zigzag around it because with all the turning this way and that way and handling it I started having a lot of fraying and since this one is the exact size I didn't want to lose any threads.

Tina I love your block and the sky. We found bee buttons at Joanna and I found tiny black buttons there too fir the door knobs.

I did a search for bee buttons the other day, and found lots of choices. Hobby Lobby and Walmart had the best prices.
