Re: New Charm Swap Idea - Cookie & Candy Jars
Hope to get some details posted soon, so that anyone who wishes to can go ahead and get a headstart on looking for fabric. (Currently, the way I'm thinking about doing it, I think each swapper will only need about 1/2 yard of two different candy/cookie/cake/snack fabrics).
And the swap will definitely be after the holidays.
Thanks everyone!

OK, I bought my first "candy" fabric today.
Will be on the lookout for another cookie or candy fabric. I know this one will be fun!

I'm going to go ahead and open the sign-ups for this swap now--- that way, if you're out doing any Christmas shopping, you can start looking for your fabrics!
Look for the new discussion thread-- entitled "Candy/Cookie Charm Swap Now Open-- Join the Fun!
"
All the following information will be posted there as well.
We will be swapping "6x7 inch charms" of candy, cookie, cake, treat, sweet, snack fabrics. (I'm planning to make a jar quilt with mine.)
You'll need 12 charms each from 2 different fabrics. Place one 6x7 charm from each fabric in a baggie with your name included in each bag (it's fun to see who sent in what
. Pre-washing is not required, but please indicate on the labels whether you did pre-wash or not.
Place 11 of the baggies into a larger (gallon size) ziplock bag-- keep one set for yourself. (I always write all my contact information--- name, forum name, address, etc-- on a piece of paper and stick that in the large bag too, just in case the envelope were to be damaged during delivery.) Place all this into your mailing envelope along with a return stamped, addressed envelope.
Sign-ups will be open from now until January 10-- and charms are due to me by February 14. I will be sending out weekly reminders/updates to eveyone who signs up, because communication IS the key to a fun swap!
Also, if you need more than 24 charms, you may sign up for 2 sets. I'm planning to do this myself, since I would like to make 2 of the quilts-- one to keep and one for my daugher... If you do, though, please send in 4 *different* prints. Hopefully, we can avoid having too many duplicates.
If anyone thinks of anything that I've missed, please PM me. I want to cover all the bases!
PM me with your contact info if you want to join, and I'll add you right away (and send my contact info, too)!
