The last swap I was in, was from friends around here, and we did 1/2 yard swaps from LQS quality. It was fun, and we had good returns, but that most people do not want that. No one is snotty for wanting the good in return for what they put in. Material has gone up, and now some places it is close to $10. Wow, a big change from our grandmothers time. Back to feed sacks? LOL No, just joking.

Evie, I remember the blue flannel FQ swap. And they were heavy to mail, to boot!! It was my first swap.

Prices are going up, though, and that includes fabrics and postage. Getting to be an investment sometimes beyond my means. Sigh.

Hi,everyone! Was just thinking last week that it would be fun to
to have a fat quarter swap. Also had found myself wondering if it had
been done before, too,so you're topic is very timely! Just like most have mentioned, between gas, food, and my prescriptions, the price of fabric going up too is kinda heart-breaking! Especially because quilting is my "therapy". I went to buy some yardage about 2 weeks ago for a lap quilt in the making and one in my head,LOL, and it came to $80.00! Because I've not bought yards in a pretty long while, sure was surprised. The prices weren't " therapeutic "at all,LOL!
Everyone has made very interesting comments, and I agree.Do you
ladies think it would be possible to have a FQ swap if the ground rules
were set something like; one fat quarter from your present stash, quilt
shop quality fabric only, washed and pressed,in autumn colors. The major cost might only be postage, and if it is washed and pressed,it would take care of dust, pets,or smoke, and wrinkles. Also they would be a bit easier to ship if it was pressed and possibly mailed flat?
Does this sound feasible to anyone?? Sure would like to read
your thoughts and comments. Might be a way to make it through this
economy, and still have fun and "new" fabrics! Whatcha think ??
