Sidewinder bobbin winder

Post by suzette58 » Tue Oct 23, 2007 8:59 am

I just received my Sidewinder that I ordered from QIAD. I love it. There was a message that someone else had posted about it that it couldn't be shut off till it finished. I don't know what the peice is called but, I just pushed the piece that shuts the machine off when the bobbin is full over and it stops before the bobbin is finished. It is a wonderful item.

Is there a way to adjust it so it winds the bobbin evenly? My bobbin will be full at the top and only about 2/3 full on the bottom.

I don't know. I tried it and did 4 bobbins. All 4 were even. Were you using batteries or household current? Maybe it wasn't getting enough power.

I was using the electric cord. I will be going and trying again when I have more time. I have heard no other complaints so I am sure I can figure something out. Other than that it was would very tight and fast. I see they are asking on another string about availability. When I ordered mine, late last Tuesday, they only had 2 left in stock and I bought 1 so they probably are out.

I hesitated buying one because I heard they do not work on the Viking green bobbins that are used in the designer I andII. Does anyone know if this is true?

i think this is wonderful - long arm quilters have had bobbin winders fro years and they are awesome to say the least a real time save just remember to have at least 2 of the same color spools of thread

I purchased the SideWinder at the Baby Lock store today. It was on sale. I can hardly wait to try it.

I wound lots of bobbins last night using the Sidewinder. I wound Baby Lock and Pfaff bobbins. It was so much fun and very easy.

I definitely think this was a WISE purchase.
