KALEIDOS BY BETHANY REYNOLDS - QUILTING PATTERN
Has anyone quilted B.Reynolds´kaleidoscopes? I have just made a small wall hanging with three "on point" windmills in a column - and don´t have a clue how to quilt it (besides the "in the ditch" option). Should be something simple (but matching)as I do not want to distract the attention from the windmills...

You might want to post a picture so the Longarm Ladies can see it. I'm sure they will have some nice suggestions.
Have Fun,

Here is a variation of the same block I did for a grandson's quilt. I used an overall design.

Inka, what pattern did you use for your Bethany Reynold's Kaleidoscope? Was it from one of her books, or was it basically like the one I just posted?

Re: KALEIDOS BY BETHANY REYNOLDS - QUILTING PATTERN
Thanks everybody, I have figured it by now (clever head, wow) - it´s just two squares the same size across each other, one in the "regular position", the other standing "on point" - (obviously with diagonal cuts for the big triangles). That way you can draw a pattern for ANY size of caleidoscope "star" (.i.e.with those little triangles like in calicopuzzle´s picture).
As for my original pattern, I had cheated and had bought the kaleidos precut.
By the way - the accomplishing SIDE and CORNER triangles (plain fabric preferably) are not fun - on Bethany Reynolds site you can find tables with measurements.
And - I have started quilting the wallhanging - by hand, simple flowers in the plain areas seem to look best. (Crazy as it might sound, the outlines of kaleido stars and borders have been quilted by machine in the ditch, I can´t bear thimbles...)
Tell me, how to mail a picture simple way (directly to this window) and I will do so when I am finished.
