Do you say a bad word whenever you fill your iron with water?
I found the neatest thing to fill my iron. I read this tip somewhere and decided to try it. No more drips, spills, funnels, pouring spout cups, big bottle of water sitting around, or bad words coming out of my mouth! It is one of those plastic ketchup/mustard plastic dispensers. The nozzle is long and very thin. It fits perfectly in the iron water hole. It's the best thing I've used that actually works to stop the water mess.

This works great! I just tried it myself last week. I was at the dollar store picking up some things for camping and saw these.

Great idea. I don't know what to do about my iron. It has started dripping when I have it on 'steam' not from the holes on the sole plate but from the side of the iron. It's so aggravating. Anyone know what I can do about it?

My iron leaks from the side too. Is it time for a new one? If so what's the best one to get? Neat idea to use the plastic dispensers.

Mine came with a little cup with a pour spout on it. But before that, yea, I used to say a few things!

My iron started leaking from the base of the sole plate. I didn't hesitate to toss it as it was an older one but a good one. I bought the Black and Decker Classic. This is the type used at guild and all the workshops and it has never leaked.

Dang, vagrandma, I hope not. This is my cordless iron I'm talking about and it wasn't inexpensive. My DH is not going to be happy when I tell him. I could have had a nice Rowenta for what he paid for that cordless. I LOVE it though. No cord in the way when you are trying to iron whole pieces of fabric, etc. Dang again!

Some sew & vac places repair irons (the more expensive ones). Get on the web site of the brand to see if they can be repaired. I have an iron that has a 'boiler'. The water is not in the iron but in a tank that sits on the table. Longer steam time & lighter iron.
