Digital camera

Post by sewbug » Wed Jun 27, 2007 9:29 am

I consider this a quilting notion! Anyway my camera eats batteries so I bought the rechargable batteries. I thought they would last longer than a few pictures, Not! My next camera will be like my cell phone, rechargable by plugging it in. Be careful about buying a camera that uses regular batteries, you'll spend more than the cost of a camera buying batteries.

I got a digital camera last Christms and I have 2 sets of rechargable batteries. That way when one goes dead I put the other set in.

The rechargeable batteries last for about 20 pics in my camera. Maybe I need better recharable batteries. I have two sets and each set last only minutes.

I have had my digital camera for 4 years. I killed my recharge batteries the first year. I too use a lot of batteries & if I am not using it for a long period I take the batteries out. I have not figured out why I use up batteries, but would rather pay for batteries than photo printing. I also feel this is a quilting notion. Can't live without it!!

My batteries last way longer than 20 pics. That's not very much. That would make me crazy if I had to constantly change the batts.

My rechargable batteries came with the camera and I keep the camera in the docking thing that came with it. They are always charged and ready to go. I don't think I have ever had a problem with them. Camera is a small Kodak and the battery is Kodak also. I really enjoy the camera. It is a notion. I have a picture of every quilt I have made.

My cell phone takes great pictures. I even learned how to download (upload?) them to my computer. I've turned into sort of a techie in my old age!

I have rechargeable batteries for my digital. They last a long time but like anything else they will eventually not charge or hold the charge and need to be replaced. I bought mine from Radio S. not cheap but they hold through at least 60 pics or so. I almost always take my camera to a quilt show plus extra batteries and extra cards.

When you use the LCD screen on your camera it uses up power on the batteries much faster. I use rechargeable batteries and I try to use the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen and my batteries last alot longer. Cameras that use lithium batteries also have a longer battery life, but you may want to use the viewfinder more often just to make sure. Also, make sure you are using batteries made for digital cameras, even though some cameras can use regular AA batteries, they will not last very long no matter what you do. They just do not have the power to run a camera for more than a few pictures.

The problem with re-chargeable batteries is that they aren't really dead when the camera (or whatever you use them in) says they are. If you get a flashlight that runs on the double AA batteries put them in it and turn on the flashlight. Leave it on till the batteries are dead then re-charge. My company used to use them when we had pagers and we had to go through that.
