New machine & Cabinet

Post by lak76248 » Sun May 27, 2007 11:16 am

Currently I have a very, very basic Elnita machine and I've had it for many years. I'm toying with the idea of upgrading, but so many machines out there is there anywhere out there that I can go to go get an unbiased and fair comparison on machines?

I also need a good cabinet? Ideas???

Thank you.

Check on the main page of general quilting. I believe there is a topic about sewing machines.

I have a Koala cabinet with the big fold-out leaf in the back and dearly love it. My machine sits on a spring-loaded shelf and everything is flush with the surface. Of course, this thing takes up a huge amount of space in my sewing room, as I rarely fold the leaf down anymore, but I couldn't do without it now.

Hey there
I have 2 computer machines. Mine I am using now is the Janmone 9500
I brought a really sturdy table at the place where I brought both of my machines
We are soon going to build our retirement home. hopefully
I will probally use the table still for a while.
Are there any plans for sewing cabinets that one's husband might build.Or would it be just as cheap to buy it? Pinkroses

The Koala cabinets are very pricey. If your DH is handy, he could probably build something cheaper. I'm sure there are all kinds of plans available for sewing machine cabinets wherever you get those kinds of things - Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. Probably some available on the internet, also.

My quilting table was made by www.traceystables.com in Wiconsin. It is well made and very reasonable cost. He does deliver all over the USA. And stands behind all he makes. I hope to add some new pieces when I move to our new house. Geri

koala would be my cabinet of choice - I don't have one because I am holding out for a new machine to go in it

For Christmas 2005, my DH decided to buy me a new sewing machine table. Bless his sweet heart, he did not realize that this is something I would want to select for myself. He bought me a Roberts Table. I have to tell you, it is a medium priced sewing table and I love it. The extension folds down when not in use and gives me extra space in my sewing room.
