Quilt in a Day Forums

Does monofilament thread melt in the dryer? I know I can not iron over it.
I used this stuff years and years ago and remember hating it....
I'm going to be doing machine appilque with it.

I don't know if it will melt in the dryer - but I have used it many times on baby quilts and they are fine -they get lots of use -washing and love!

I have decided to use silk thread the color of the applique. That way I don't have to worry about the tension either.

I've used it and havent' had any melting problems so far. One thing when using monofiliment (Not my favorite thread, but sometimes it's what I need) is to loosen the top tension. and then remember to tighten it again when going back to regular thread!

Not if you buy a good thread. I think YLI is the one they sell at quilt shows and say it holds up well. Lori

Becuase it is so hard to see,,,,take a marker and color the tip, makes it a lot easier to thread.
