Cricut?!?

Has anyone ever used a Cricut cutting machine to cut applique shapes for quilting? I just got one and was so excited - I have seen them cut fabrics but can't seem to make mine do it. That is the main purpose of why I bought the Cricut. Any tips?
Thanks!

Try a lightweight fusiable and see if it works.

I have tried several times over the last 1 1/2 years and csn't get it to work, the fabric doesn't stay stuck on the cutting mat like paper :o( I have given up on it for that, I just use it to cut out shapes on paper to use as a template.

I've had some success if I put the fusible web on the fabric first then attached to a new cutting board works better. Fabric alone just doesn't stick.

I know nothing about cutters, but do you think it might work if you ironed freezer paper onto your fabric before cutting it?

Oh, goodness, sounds like too much trouble. It would be easier just to use your rotary cutter and ruler.

It looks like it's more for paper products. Good luck. Would love to see what you come up with. Lori

Sounds like alot of work. I think I will just stick to my rotary cutter and shears. i had seen one and thought about it. I am glad I didn't get it.
