SIMPLICITY ELECTRIC CUTTING MACHINE

I'm intrigued by this idea of cutting jelly roll strips with a machine. Does anyone have one of these that can tell me if it's worth the price? It's $79 + postage on Simplicity.com and on Amazon.com, about $61 with postage. You can only do 1 strip at a time and the sizes are limited. I think it's 3/4"-2 3/4", but wouldn't it be great for making bias strips or jelly roll strips? Paying about $1 each for a 2 1/2" strip of fabric makes that fabric worth about $16/yd. To be able to buy 1/4 yd. and get 3 strips would be fabulous. IF this machine is worth it.

I've just seen the machine advertised. I haven't seen it work. I agree with you, morgans4, it would be a nice reduction in price of strips if it really works. I just saw it in a magazine, I'm not sure who is selling them and where you could see one in action. If anyone does, I would be interested to hear the results.
I have seen the bias binding maker and it is well worth the money if you do a lot of binding. I don't, so I don't have the machine. Maybe the same with this one. I'll be anxious to hear what others think.

I have one. I bought it awhile back but haven't really used. When I bought it I had already cut strips for a log cabin quilt. Then I finished a quilt I had started a couple of years ago. Now I am making a table runner and pillow cases out of scraps so I really haven't had a reason to use it. I played around with it for an hour or so when it was delivered and I was pleased with it but it has been on the shelf since that time.
