I am helping a friend find a product she calls, "shrinky stuff". It is like a fine chiffon and it is used for making a 3d effect especially for large print materials like roses, etc. You put it on the back and sew around the flowers then you hold the steam iron over the back and it shrinks making a 3d effect on the flowers. She is a quilter and can use this effect. Has anyone heard of something that works like that or can tell me where else to try? Guess I don't know the righst "search" words as all I get is shrink plastic or something that is used in an ink jet printer but does not talk of a 3d effect. HELP!!!! :)

Check out Superior Threads...I think you'll find what you're looking for.

I saw this demoed last year. I think it was Heat Bond that was used on the back. Nothing fancy or special that I remember. I have thread that will shrink when heat is applied not the same effect but Superior does make a product called Texture Magic. it is a steam-activated shrinking fabric.
The fabric shrinks 30% in all directions with the use of a steam iron.
