Gel pens and freezer paper questions
One of the things I enjoy most about all of you quilters is that no question is a dumb question (although sometimes I feel really dumb for asking). Several of you have mentioned coloring in your labels with gel pens. WOuld you please be able to elaborate a bit on what I am looking for in gel pens? Also, I read a bit about using freezer paper and am confused. Do I take the printed label (haven't found them yet) and iron it on to the freezer paper, then color or write what I want on the label? Do I peel the freezer paper off before I heat set the gel or do I not heat set it at all? Okay, I guess this is more that two questions. Thank you for any advise and help. I bought a pigma pen but, well we all know what happened with that. Have a wonderful day

Iron the shiny side of the freezer paper to the back of your label before writing on it. That helps stablize the fabric so it is easier to control and write on with your permenant pen. Then peel the paper off before heat setting the label. OH by the way, use a dry iron to put the paper on .It might be a little harder to get it off if you use steam. I have had good luck with doing this. Marge

Re: Gel pens and freezer paper questions
I put iron the freezer paper to the back of my label before I write on it or color it. It just makes the fabric more stable for doing this. Peel the freezer paper off when you are done writing and coloring and then heat set it. I use El's method of applique to stick my label down on the back and then I hand sew it down.
