quilting thread

May I please ask what type or brand of quilting thread your wonderful quilters would recommend for a somewhat newbie. So far I have been using just plain old walmart machine quilting thread. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Everyone has their favorites but I use Gutterman's and have had good luck with it. I buy it when it is on sale at JoAnn's. But.....I have also used with great success a thread by Connecting Threads called Essentials. Much cheaper and good quality. Just google Connecting Threads and surf the site.

I have used about every brand of thread there is. The name brand threads are excellent but for the price I like Essentials thread. I bought the neutral thread set to find my favorite neutral colors and now I buy the big cones of those colors. I have been digging around on the internet and I'm guessing YLI manufacturers it for Connecting Threads. YLI is my favorite machine quilting thread so no wonder I like the Essential thread so much.

I've tried alot of different brands, but recently I bought the Essential Thread at Connecting Threads, too! I bought a couple of the "sets", they were on sale, and I LOVE it! And the price is great. Go to their website and sign up for the newsletter, then watch for the sales.

I've just started using Essential Threads within the last few months and I'm finding I like it best, too. Will get cones of a few neutrals next time.

I use only Gutermann's and am very pleased with it. I started with Coats & Clarks; but the amount of fuzz it released was rediculous. Have heard alot of positive about the Essentials; but find it a little thick for my taste.

For machine quilting: King Tut is great! Go to sewthankful.com for best prices.
I use Essentials for piecing.

YLI. I love every thread by them, that I have tried. The clear thread is the very best on the market. They have beautiful colors of quilting thread.
