Applique foot for the Babylock Espire

I was getting frustrated with appliqueing on my Babylock because I couldn't see exactly where the needle was hitting the fabric. None of the feet are open enough to see clearly. Rummaged through the collection of feet for my old Bernette 65 and tried the open applique foot for it on my Babylock. It works! If I remember correctly, I only paid $5 for it a long time ago.

Thought I would share!

Anyone else have something that works for more than one machine?

Thanks for the info, I believe I will try that. I don't know why they put that clear plastic right in the way, on that foot.

I had the same problem, Evie, and found that the open toe foot from my Janome 6500 fits, too! But I'm not crazy about the 1/4" foot that comes with the Espire, and the 1/4" foot from the Janome does NOT fit. BUMMER! Anyone have a suggestion?

The 1/4" foot that comes with the Espire is fine when the fabrics are at right angles to the foot, but when I am sewing 1/2 square triangles, it tends to bunch up.

Ann, I like using the Dritz Magnetic seam guide:

I bought mine from QIAD but haven't seen them here since then.

Even though it's magnetic, it won't hurt the Babylock. I asked the dealer here about that since it's a computerized machine. I originally bought it to use with my Juki.
