Gave the winder I bought at Joann's with my 50% off coupon to Mom for M's day. It is really cool!!! Now I can see why everyone loves it.

I know what you mean. I really like mine also. I used my 40% off coupon to get it.

My husband give me one for Christmas, along with a new Viking Sapphire 870. The winder works great with my old machine's bobbins, but the green Viking bobbins will not work on the winder. I have read that the company has improved the winder and the newer version will take the Viking green bobbins. So be sure which version you are buying, depending on which bobbins you are using.

Yes, I love mine!! My previous machine only went forwards and backwards with some zigzag. I love the needle down, the ability to turn down the speed, the variety of stitches and the 10" arm space. I am just now exploring the free motion quilting feature and have gotten lots of advice from HomespunMary, who has one also. Shall we start a club!!LOL!
Enjoy! Let me know how you like the Grace frame, it might be in my future.

Does anyone know where you can find the bobbin winder in pink? I had read somewhere that these were avalable but can not seem to locate them... I have decided to get one and think the pink one would work best... Do you that have the bobbin winders like them and do you have problems?
Thanks
Debbie

The pink SideWinder is a limited edition. Here is a link that tells about it.

All right, that's it! I am blowing my newest Joann's coupon on the SideWinder...! I love my gals (Sadie and Flossie) dearly and they do such lovely work...but their ability to wind bobbins leaves something to be desired. SHHHHH! Don't want to hurt their feelings...lol!

Today I was doing a bit of quilting when I ran out of filled bobbins. My first thought was, "Darn, I'm going to have to move the quilt" and then...I remembered my fabulous little sidewinder. I was so happy. I filled a few bobbins and I was stitching again in minutes!!! Thank goodness for the sidewinder!

I had trouble with my winder falling over when using, it went so fast it kinda lifted up. I took the screws out and glued a heavy piece of metal I found in DH's shop, Have no idea what it was for, It fit so I used it, in the bottom of the casing. Now it's steady and I think winds better.
