Re: I bought a new iron UPDATE
cindyg, Sorry to burst your bubble! I hope your Shark lasts longer than mine. I, too, was impressed with the steam at first. But when the steam stopped coming out of the iron and started spewing forth from my hand, I began to rethink my opinion! I would guess there was a short someplace in the wiring in the iron. Handle kept getting hotter and hotter until I had to stop and let it cool down after only doing one shirt. Finally, when I didn't let go fast enough and burned my hand, I shut 'er down and took 'er back. Costco is excellent with returns. Wishing you better luck with yours. mz

Cindy, which Shark did you buy? I got the $30.00 model today and maybe I should have gotten one of the two above this one. So far, mine is not giving steam unless I press the steam button. I have it set on the highest steaml setting. Most stealm irons give steam when you start ironing. Did I get a lemon and I go back with it or am I not doing something, you think?

Judy, I think mine was around $30. It's the green one and says Shark Professional on the box. I love it. It steams when I'm ironing and when I push the button I really get a great burst of steam. I'm loving it so far. Sorry yours isn't working properly. Let me know what you do about it.

I love my Rowenta Steam iron...Auto Shut Off...It is does a good job and doesn't leak. I've had it over 6 years. My Old Sunbeam steam iron with stainless plate still works great and I've had it for years and years. It gets really HOT on Cotton setting, so, I use the Wool setting when I use that one. The Rowenta is a good iron.

I got the Oliso last year and LOVE IT! I have bad wrists and hands and it has added hours onto my sewing time. Just the process of lifting the iron to stand it up caused a lot of stress. I have had it over a year now and will not be without one in the future!

I have used my friends Oliso, and I really don't care for it personally. Why? Because, I like sitting the iron down to press the seam for a couple seconds without moving it or steam. This one keeps wanting to pop up and it drives me nuts - I have to keep pushing it down. I have a Rowenta I like - I believe it was from Costco - so not real expensive either.

Re: I bought a new iron UPDATE
I bought an expensive iron last summer and it just quit . Wouldn't do anything. Decided that I would not buy another expensive iron so went to Wal-mart and bought a Black & Decker for about $12.00. It sound like the same one you bought. So far , works like a charm.
