Going past the irons in Wal Mart today, I saw the B&D's but also there were two Proctor Silex there for under $10.00 and mine was about $11.00. It has more steam vents and holds a good amount of water and not auto shut off. Works great so far.

speaking of irons, does anyone know why they make the plastic where you put the water blue? Sometimes I can't tell how full my iron is and I either overfill it or run it completely out. Why can't they use clear plastic instead of blue?

My Proctor & Silex still "steaming" along. I also use my "Wacker" on the seams and works great. Flattens them right out.

Never gave it a thought that the water tanks are blue, so now I will be studying all irons to see what color the water tank is. Ha ha

I was at WalMart on Saturday and I got a new iron. I got a Shark Professional and so far I love it. It gives a great burst of steam - so much so that I jumped out of my skin the first time I pushed the button. I hope this one lasts - I love it. I think it was about $30. The ultra-cheap Black and Decker iron is in the trash can. I'm not even keeping that one for a spare.

You might want to get it out of the trash can and just use it without water for fusible stuff. I have one that I use just for that as it works great without water. That way I do not get the fusible on my good iron.

I know nothing about Oliso's but I love my Rowenta. After many years it died and I tried a Shark, thinking to save money. After 6 months the plastic handle melted in my hand. I took it back (to Costco) and went for another Rowenta. I'm happy once again. maryz

Purrfect - thanks so much for popping my bubble! LOL I'm really hoping this Shark iron holds up. I really like the steam it puts out. I'm just wondering how the handle melted.
