What a great idea! I always spill water all over the place when I am filling my iron. Thanks for the tip!

I love the idea of using the ketsup container things to put water in the iron!!!!! Great idea. Thank You for sharing that tip. I get so aggravated at myself for not filling the iron without spilling water.
Say a bad word? Me???? LOL Naw, Not me!

Oh No! You threw 2 away? Could have used them for fusible type work on dry setting. I am going to get a new iron soon because mine spits or just dumps water at the wrong times & keep this oldie for fusible. Read that tip on here somewhere or it would have landed in the garbage too. So Thanks to whoever mentioned that tip!!!!!

Cathy I use a cheap Teflon coated sole plate iron for fusibles. If I kept every iron that leaked I'd have an iron collection.

I have a Rowenta that leaks I was going to put it in my garage sale next week if someone wants to pay shipping I will send it to them. It is the powerglide 2. The first person to post me can have it.
I went to a class a couple of years ago and one of the ladies told me not to use distilled water in my iron and I went home and read the directions and it does say not to use distilled water in it. I use Spring water in my irons now. Alot of calcium does come out but I press the steam button alot. I hope this will help to keep the iron from leaking.

You all make me feel so much better. I thought I was the only one who couldn't pour water into that akward hole in the iron. LOL I'm deffinately going to try the mustard bottle idea.

IMHO, It was a Man that invented the iron with the little hole in top!
