I would like to have a nickle for every seam ripper I have lost in the past 45 years of sewing.

My home ec teacher once said that is one of your most important tools, because a "REAL" sewer admits mistakes and insists on correcting it.

Totally agree about the Clover rippers. They are great. I had one of the red and white ones from F & P, which I threw in the trash, as thats what it was. Wouldn't cut anything. I also have one of the flat surgical steel ones, it cuts good but usually can't find it. I'm in awe of those of you who do not need a ripper, I would never get anything done without one. LOL

I love the 'serger' seam rippers. The curved surgical blade. There is also a blade that is a button hole cutter that is flat taht works real well also. Use that one like a rotary cutter, but easier to hold onto.

I use the one that came with my Janome. I also have a generic one from some fabric store.

I bought one back in 1971, don't know the brand, but it is still my most faithful friend. Have tried others, but always go back to my old faithful one.

My seam ripper is my rotary cutter. I learned this from a QIAD teacher several years ago. Hey, when you make BIG mistakes like I do, the little rippers just take too long! lol

You have to be careful but it works great!

I'd have a disaster if I tried using the rotary cutter to rip. My Clover ripper is as dangerous a weapon as I dare use!

There is no way I could use the rotary cutter to take out seams. I cut my fabric and my fingers to bits.
