C. Q. Our Walmart employees knew it was comming and said we could call or go on line to protest, which alot of us did. Walmart is the only place selling fabric and sewing and craft stuff for miles around.

Re: What's your favorite size rotary cutter?
My new favorite is my pinking edge one. I love it and have been using it all weekend. This is the very best money I have spent in a long time. I have a standard pair of pinking shears but they dull very easy and are hard to use so this is a wonderful thing!!
I got it at Joanns with a 50% off coupon and it ended up costing me about $6.00 so I figured it was worth the chance even if I wasn't crazy about it. Great use of my $6.00!!!

45mm straight blade for most cutting
45mm pinker for certain applications
28mm for trimming out paper piecing
a separate 45mm scalloping blade at the drafting table for cardmaking
Have a 60mm but rarely use it - less control
My favorite cutter is a blue Dritz.....cushion handle.

Used a 45 for a long time and seemed to go through alot of blades. Bought a 60 and it works better for me and the blades seem to last longer.

I usually use a 60mm but will switch to a 45mm if it is handy.
A great use for the Pinking Blade is to trim the ends of new fabric prior to washing it. It won't ravel and is quick to do.

I have 2 45mm cutter that I use all the time. I bought a tiny one just cuz it was so cute!
A question? I have seen the pinking ones, do y'all use that one when you are cutting squares or strips? Can you put a pinking blade in a regular holder? I actually have 2 Fiskars cutters, one for upstairs when I usually cut out the fabric and one for downstairs in sewing room. Got tired of having to bring it up and down. And then there's my Gingher scissors which I could live without!

Did I see on the forum that Linda is getting a small rotary cutter to use with the circle cutter ruler. Or am I dreaming -again- LOL If so, I want the purchase both. I have fallen in love with the yo yo pattern.

Re: What's your favorite size rotary cutter?
I have all the sizes I've seen (can we say gadget junkie, hm?) and seem to use the 60 most, because as has been mentioned here, the same cut takes less of the perimeter of the blade on a larger blade than on a smaller one, and so the larger blades seem to last quite a bit longer to me, too. 45 is fine too, if it is close to hand.
But for really little work, like mini quilts, I use the 28 or the 18 even.
