Omnigrid Rulers

Post by girl » Fri Aug 14, 2009 1:22 am

Hi every one, I have a set of omnigrid rulers and I'm going to start my day and night quilt and can I just use those rulers for squareing them up when needed. Can some one tell me the difference between what I have and the book saying what is needed. I'm not understanding why you need the shape cut plus ruler also if you have a 6x24 already. Thank you for help.

I find it easier to square up a block with a square ruler. The one I have is 10.5 inches. I used to have a 12.5 inch one and probably will get one again. You can line up the diagonal all the way across the block and get a more accurate square than with a ruler that only covers half the block. That's just my opinion. You'll love the Day and Night pattern!

Good Morning Girl - You don't need the shape cut ruler to cut your strips - it is just giving you another option for cutting your strips for the quilt - it should have been listed as optional on supplies needed - hope this helps :o)
