Design Wall Alternative

Post by TooMuchFabric » Wed Jun 10, 2009 4:26 am

I have wanted a design wall and did not have a place for one. I really liked the portable ones but they were a bit (how about a whole lot) out of my budget.

Here's the story I took a large frame that had an old painting (I never did like) and removed the canvas (leaving painting in tact) then covered it with fleece and reinserted it into the frame and now I have a nice place to work with blocks. It even looks pretty good hanging on the wall.

Another inexpensive alternative is to get a flannel backed tablecloth. I stitched button holes in one end of mine and hung it on adhesive hooks I placed on my fireplace. The whole story and a picture is on my blog at the following link.

Clever idea! I need to get a design wall and this might be a good idea to try.
